Limit Motorsports rider Jason Curtis had a hard fought battle to score his
first podiums of 2008. Unfortunately he was left without his regular crew,
which in turn led to setup problems all weekend. Due to recent storms and high
winds, grip was a struggle all weekend. Starting from the 10
th row
in the Formula 1 event, Jason got a stellar start putting him in front of Toye,
but unfortunately he was outgunned and settled for 3
rd place, approximately
5 seconds behind 2
nd place finisher Toye, and 6.7 seconds behind
former World Supersport racer Chris Peris. All 3 of the top finishing riders
were on Dunlop shod Suzuki GSX-R 1000’s. The A Superbike race was essentially
the same, with Peris leading Toye, followed by Curtis. The final race of the
day for the NLA/No Limit Motorsports crew was A Superstock, where, on his
birthday, Jason Curtis won by a large margin over Hawk Mazzotta.
Overall
the weekend was considered a success, but also was an encouragement to the team
to begin testing with the 16.5 inch rear wheels. Having ridden in the Superstock
class in the AMA Superbike series, there hasn’t been very much testing done at
all with the bigger tires, so with some increased testing time, Jason plans to
return to racing much faster and in close competition with Toye, Peris, and
other front runners. Stay tuned for more racing news from NLA.
