Ethan Quinn had an exceptional weekend, qualifying fifth out of approxamately 40 racers. In the heat race he backed up his qualifying effort with a hard fought 4th place. In the final event, race officials missed a potentially perfect rolling start, and had to attempt a re-start four additional times. During these four restart attempts, racers had issues with stalling motors, and contact between racers. Unfortunately Quinn got caught up in some of the pre-race carnage and was spun out before the race began. Thanks to the help from a track worker, he restarted and assumed his position on the 2nd row. The race itself was a great battle for this new racer. It was a great learning experience where he battled for 3rd while still learning to deal with lapped traffic. He unofficially finished the race in 5th place. During a post race technical inspection, it was declared that ethan was not allowed to re-take his position before the race began after help from a track worker. It appeared that Quinn was singled out by race direction in this instance unfortunately, but he will come back strong in the next round. His official result was last place, but Quinn, his fans, and family saw the hard work that took place before, during, and after the race. Quinn plans on battling for the top podium positions during the next IKF event.
