In the supercross main event, Davi Millsaps took the holeshot on his Red Bull racing Honda. Unfortunately for him the currently dominant reed was side by side with him through the whoops. Once they hit the triple, Reed took the lead. Not being one to give up easily, Millsaps retook the lead with his different line choice through the rhythm section. Davi continued on to hold the lead until the third lap where he was relegated back to 2nd place. Andrew short was holding it down in 3rd place, while Tim Ferry and Kevin Windham fought over 4th.

The race appeared to not be going anywhere, when out of the blue Reed fell, and was eventually passed back by Davi. They resumed their battle over the next 4 laps, but instead of the sand being Chads enemy, it was where he made his final pass over Millsaps for the win. Ferry also came up fighting on the final lap, passing Millsaps and stealing the second podium spot out from under him.
