40,000 People came to warm up the Minneapolis Metrodome this weekend to watch round 11 of the AMA Supercross series. Currently the championship is wide open, with Reed seeming to lose momentum while others are stepping up from the back of the pack to get on the box.
This was the first time since 2004 that the supercross series has raced at the Metrodome, with the previous winner being Kevin Windham. He returned looking for a repeat of his previous performance, but there was a man on a mission, Chad Reed, who argued otherwise.
Ryan Dungey grabbed the holeshot in the Main, Josh Hill in 2nd and with Kevin Windham in third, Chad reed ended up 5th after the start. Chad Reed eventually had a crash setting himself back to 9th place, fighting up to finish in 7th. The big story though, were the 2 Newcomers Josh Hill and Ryan Dungey who distanced themselves from the pack and had a very strong finish. This was Josh Hills first career win. After the race Josh hill told Transworld MX "Man, I cant really put it into words right now. I've been dreaming about this since I was five or six years old. Now that its become a reality, its crazy! it hasnt quite sunk in yet".
