Jorge Lorenzo backed up his Qatar performance by leading the practice sessions this Friday in Spain, with bridgestone shod team mate Rossi only .043 seconds behind. Colin Edwards finished closely in third, on his valve spring powered Yamaha. Nicky Hayden held third for most of the session on his 2008 Machinery. During the second afternoon session, just before the half way mark he was fastest, but eventually got booted back down to 4th by the time the clock stopped. You're obviously wondering "What about Stoner?" The Australian was battling a headshake problem for most of the morning, which eventually caught up to him in the fast left hander leading into the stadium section. Stoner crashed, uninjured, but his Desmosedici didnt have the same fate. It was seen flipping multiple times. He was out riding in the same session on his backup bike within 10 minutes of the crash, but he lacked his expected pace.
