Roger was taken out by #311 Robertino Pietri this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. Superbikeplanet.com is reporting that Hayden underwent surgery today for his injured finger. It is reported that there was still grass in the wound. The finger injury may be overshadowed by a broken pelvis, and severe back injuries including a broken lower left lumbar.

Superbikeplanet.com is reporting:

"I feel so much better just being here. I was in some pain yesterday and I couldn't sleep before surgery and they gave me some pills and I went right out. Slept through the surgery and they cleaned the heck out of my wound. Today it feels much better."

"Man if you ever have a hand injury this is the place to come, they are amazing," Hayden said of the medical staff at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare. "They are just so awesome. It's not just that they're competent; like, one of my doctors, he races GNCC, so any time we're together we're talking racing or bikes. It's cool."

"Tomorrow morning. They don't seem to have a lot of hope but they are going to do what they can. There's no bone, no ligament and no joint so they say it might be tough to save it but they are not giving up," Hayden said from his hospital bed this morning.
