Curtis underwent major shoulder surgery at the beginning of 2008 which forced him to take time off to recover. After recieving the "go ahead" to race, the No Limit Motorsports team headed to Willow Springs for Round 6 of the WSMC championship. Track conditions were less than stellar, with high winds and scorching heat, which set the stage for a less than ideal weekend.
In the Open Superbike Race, Curtis broke his clutch off the line and fought his way up to 3rd place. Unfortunately with the broken clutch, he couldnt keep the pace that #1 plate holder Karl Lowry and Honda Test Rider Jeff Tigert had, and had to settle for a respectable third. His best lap of the race was a 1:22.689
Much to the suprise of many, Curtis had also signed up for the Ninja Cup race. The Ninja Cup is a new class for the WSMC series, in which competitors ride race prepped Kawasaki Ninja 250's. Once thought of as merely a starter bike for the street, these race bikes are the perfect option for those considering getting in to Road Racing. Jason decided to rent the race bike, which for only $250 from www.racebikerentals.com you have a prepped bike ready to go! The $250 includes all the fuel and tires you'll need.

The Ninja Cup race immediately followed the Open Superbike race, so Curtis was forced to join the race with cold tires. The race was dominated by Wesley Totsubo, who is the current class lap record holder. Curtis had a great battle with Richard Barnett, the owner of racebikerentals. Their battle included close drafting, close passing, and even each rider pulling themselves in front of eachother down the straightaway. The exciting race call audio has been embedded into the bottom of this article.
The weekend itself could have been better, but just getting back to racing was exciting for the entire No Limit Motorsports crew. We're excited to see what happens with the AMA Superbike series under its new ownership, and equally as excited to go back out to more rounds of the WSMC and WERA series'.
Stay tuned for more news!
