After a hard start, battling from the back of the pack, there was an extremely unusual crash on the very first lap. After getting tangled in the crash a little bit (but without crashing) Jason had to battle up to the lead group where Wes Faria was. After multiple attempts to break away, Faria returned to the lead pack. With Jason meeting up with the lead pack after about 6 laps, he eventually made it to the front and finished in 13th place, with Faria finishing 21st.
